Bel Isi PNG Ending Violence Against Women

A Look Back...

Corporate partners, government representatives, and community members united in Port Moresby on 21 November 2025 for the 2025 Bel isi PNG Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) Walk ahead of International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Over 500 participants marched under the theme “Safe at Work, Safe at Home,” raising awareness, encouraging reporting, and supporting survivors. More than 20 partners joined, including Santos Foundation, BSP, Steamships, ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, Air Niugini, Kina Bank, Westpac, Brian Bell Group, G4S, Femili PNG, UN agencies, and others.

The walk, led by NCD Governor Hon. Powes Parkop, Australian High Commission Minister-Counsellor Ms Elizabeth Le Bas, Bel isi PNG Chair Jean Martin, Santos Foundation CEO Jodie Hatherly, and Santos PNG Chair Leon Buskens, created a vibrant sea of orange shirts and call-to-action signs, sending a powerful message: ending violence against women and girls is everyone’s responsibility.
